Safeguarding

At carers.world, we know how vital safeguarding is to childminders, your parents and your business.

So every part of carers.world, from pickup safety and incident management, through to allergies and special requirements reflects your focus on safeguarding.

Using carers.world shows your commitment to safeguarding, to both parents and Ofsted inspectors.

Let's look at some of the ways carers.world promotes good safeguarding practice:

Pickup management

Most pickups are easy: parents drop-off and collect - you know them. But occasionally, a relative may collect, or sadly, sometimes there may be people who must never have access to a child.

Our pickup management has been designed to safeguard children at this most critical time.

You can set people who may collect. You can include photos, phone numbers and contact information. At pickup time, you can verify their identity.

carers.world also saves the details and guidance for people who must never have access to children. You (or parents) can set helpful information for each denied person: you could call parents, call a social worker or even the police.

Paperwork

Any carer knows how quickly paper builds up. And to show how you've been safeguarding a child, you have to keep it all for years!

carers.world keeps all your documents securely in the cloud.

Bills and receipts, contracts and waivers, diaries, photos, attendance records, incidents. even medical concerns... everything is stored for you.

If you take a break from childminding, you can put your subscription on hold and we'll maintain your data for you from as little as £1 a month. If you want to take your data out, that's no problem, we can give you the records to print and store.

Fitness to attend

We know how illness can spread through a community. You have a responsibility to keep your minded children and your own family safe from sickness.

Our fitness to attend module helps you monitor a child's health and, at critical times, you can ask your parents to declare their children free of symptoms before they attend your setting.

Allergies and special requirements

Our allergies and special requirements features help you highlight any particular requirements a child has.

Child icons and attendance pages remind you whenever you use carers.world. A child's allergies record can help you with suggested courses of action should symptoms show.

Special requirements record any needs the child has: socialising, physical or any other issues. Document coping strategies for each child.

Keep best practice and safeguarding documents for each child and for your setting, .

Incidents

Every day, you do all you can to protect the children in your care, but sometimes children have accidents.

carers.world incident management helps you keep detailed notes of issues. Our lessons learned section helps you show that you respond positively to incidents and can adopt new practices to help stop them reoccurring.

Parents can accept an incident, closing the issue.

Incidents are kept with each child's profile until they're twenty-one.

Your emergency contact line

When we were talking to carers during the development of carers.world, some of you mentioned an emergency contact facility. We thought it was a great idea, so we implemented it!

This is a no-cost option for carers - it's up to you if you want to use it, but if you want to, we'll give you a code to copy & paste under the emergency contact facility on your  phone. In the unlikely event that you are incapacitated, a first-responder can contact us. We'll ask for identification before we disclose any information, but we will be able to give them the number and first names of any children in your care at that time. We will contact parents for you and arrange for their children to be collected.

If there are safeguarding concerns, we will share them with the emergency services.

This is a unique service - no other care solution offers this. And it's free to you!
